PDM has been around for decades. The Cloud is trending. At Inforbix, we think it’s time to combine PDM and the Cloud into something new. So we started experimenting on a new kind of PDM we think will be much simpler and easier to deploy, use, and adopt than traditional PDM systems. We’ll share more with you as we continue to make progress. For now, however, we want to share with you a few screen shots taken by our development team of some early work on Inforbix Docs, our approach to PDM.
We’re working on ways for Inforbix Docs to automatically gather documents of different types from different locations in your company. Document revisions would automatically be collected and presented (i.e. no more check-in/out).
Individual documents would be easily tagged, labelled, and meaningfully organized. Once tagged, document revisions and changes continue to be automatically captured. Tagged document sets could be quickly accessed.
At any time, new document sets can be tagged and created or documents added to an existing tagged document set.
Accessing more details on any particular document is a single click away.
Conclusion. Inforbix is working on a new approach to PDM that leverages the cloud to create a simpler and painless way for people to manage their documents. We think it’s time to change the way people think of PDM. We’re experimenting with ways of making PDM easy, simple, cool, and available to all.
